The Cycle of Life

It's all part of the cycle of life!
It's just hard to live with the fact,
Of knowing that we lost someone,

More than a pet or an animal,
They are also our friends,

But then again did we really lose them?
Or are they really gone?

Maybe they are off in some other world,
Waiting for us . . .
Waiting to make us royalty,
Or waiting to see us again,
Missing us as much as we miss them.

Maybe they are human?
We could talk to them in the language,
That we know how to speak?

Or maybe they are still animals,
And can understand us,
And we can understand them?

Or maybe something totally different,
Maybe they are not animals or humans at all . . .
Maybe they are a totally new race?
We would become them when we pass away,
And see our animal friends again.

Or maybe they are floating silently in the stars?
Watching down on us . . .
Waiting for the day when we can float with them?

We may never know until we die,
But until then,
We can let our dreams fly,
Until the day,
When we see our animal friends again!

A friend of mine on DA had to put her pet to sleep. I was trying to cheer her up and as I was talking I randomly typed this and I thought: "Hey! That would make an awesome poem!" So here it is!
